Despite working part-time from home, fitting exercise into my day is harder than it seems!

What’s Included?

Circuit Burnout 90 comes with ten regular workout DVDs and one stretching DVD. It includes a complete nutrition guide, a workout calendar poster, and a training guide. The circuits are designed in a pyramid fashion with 5 minutes of exercise followed by 1 minute of rest, then 4 minutes of exercise followed by 1 minute of rest, continuing down to 0.

Each DVD includes a new workout that targets different areas of the body, and you determine the intensity along with how fast or slow you move through the circuit. Here is an overview of the ten workouts:

  • Abs & Assets - Focuses on ABs and Glutes (ASSets). Includes planks, crunches, and lunges to target these areas.
  • Abs & Burn - Shred your ABs and BURN calories with 20 different moves.
  • Lower Body Circuit - Tone and tighten everything below the waist including glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves while elevating the heart rate with intense cardio.

The nutrition guide comes with 36 recipes that are tasty and easy to prepare. There is a nice mix of breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes, and while I tested quite a few of the recipes weight loss wasn’t my main goal, so I didn’t follow the complete plan.

If you want to lose weight, you’ll want to use the guide since what you eat is equally important as exercise for dropping pounds.

The training calendar is a large poster that can be hung on the wall. The schedule has you exercising six days per week with one rest day. The entire 90 days are mapped out giving you nothing to think about, and the timing is designed to tear down and build up muscles for maximum results.

The training guide provides additional information about the science behind the program along with some helpful tips and tricks. I glanced through it but didn’t find it overly useful.

Overall Pros & Cons

This product has its own set of benefits and a couple of negatives depending on your goals. Most of the negatives are not specific to the product itself, but the type of fitness program that suits your personality.

If you’re the type that needs the accountability of working out in a group setting or paying for a membership in advance to help hold you accountable, CB90 may not be for you.

  • Quick - Videos are designed to take 25-40 minutes daily.
  • Convenient - The videos can be used in your home or anywhere you can play a DVD. Especially beneficial if you travel frequently, and saves time since you don’t have to leave home.
  • Flexible - Beginner, intermediate, and advanced options are available for each exercise.
  • Total Plan - Nothing to think about as everything is laid out for you on the easy to use calendar.
  • Nutrition Guide - Eating habits are as important as exercise for total health.

Cons

  • Weight Loss - If weight loss is one of your goals, don’t count on it unless you use the nutrition guide. Weight loss is unlikely with most forms of exercise unless combined with a change in diet.
  • 90 Days - The program is only 90 days. The temptation to stop when you’ve reached the end of the calendar is strong.

The benefits far outweigh the pitfalls of CB90. For the average home user, the low investment price combined with a quick, convenient, and flexible workout plan is an excellent way to get started toward a healthier life.

By the end of the 90 days, I felt comfortable deviating from the program without too much trouble, but I won’t hesitate to repeat the 90 days either.
